This small dog is also bred for companionship and has the tendency to be rather affectionate toward its master and immediate family.
Though affectionate toward their masters, Cardigan Welsh Corgis are somewhat suspicious of strangers and are also quite alert. Thus, they can be good watch dogs.
These small dogs are also good with children and if socialized properly as a pup, will get along fine with other dogs and animals.
Living Standards
This breed can adapt nicely to apartment style living if exercised on a regular basis.
They will also enjoy the spaciousness of a house with a yard, but it is not a requirement.
Exercise
The breed is relatively active (as mentioned earlier) and does require a daily walk.
This small dog can also be quite playful and will enjoy such time with its family. Be sure to provide them with dog toys, tennis balls, and bones to chew.
This breed of Corgi is known for being a bit more active then the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Litter Size
A Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppy will normally be born into a litter of roughly 5 or 7 pups.
Health and Life Expectancy
This small dog breed is typically healthy; however they do have some concerns that need to be taken into consideration.
Due to their long bodies, they have a tendency to develop back problems.
In addition, this small dog is prone to weight gain which can also affect the back in a negative manner.
