Appearance
- The Japanese Spitz is similar in appearance to that of a Samoyed.
- They stand roughly 12 to 15 inches tall.
- They typically weigh between 10 and 20 pounds.
- This has a pure white double coat that is quite thick and soft to the touch.
- These small dogs have triangular shaped ears that stand straight up (erect).
- Their tail is relatively long, curled over the back and covered with feathery like hair.

Exercise
- This breed should be walked on daily basis (a moderate distance will do).
- These small dogs also enjoy playing catch with a Frisbee or chasing tennis ball and should be provided with dog toys as well.
- You may also allow this breed run in a safe open area.

- For the best results, you should begin training this small dog when he/she is a pup.
- Remember that any small dog breed can develop small dog syndrome if not properly trained.

- This is a relatively clean breed.
- They should be brush on a daily basis (using a soft bristle brush and a comb).
- Be sure to remove any mats in their hair as well.
- Bathe these small dogs when it necessary.
- You may want to consult a professional groomer with these dogs due to the thickness and length of their fur.

- Due to their appearance, it is believed that these small dogs are a relative to the Siberian Samoyed.
