  • The Lhasa Apso is a sturdy little dog.

  • They stand roughly 10 to 11 inches in tall.

  • They typically weigh between 13 and 15 pounds.

  • This breed has a long haired double coat.

History

  • The Lhasa Apso is a native of Tibet.

  • These small dogs were first bred by nobles and holy-men. Seemingly, they were used as watch dogs.

  • They were first brought to the U.S in 1930 by the ruler of Tibet; Suydam Cutting.

  • These small dogs were first recognized by the AKC in 1935.
