History
Lowchen is a German term meaning “Little Lion”. Thus, it is believe that these small dogs originated in Germany.
This breed became a popular during the 1500s in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
Unfortunately, this small dog became quite rare after WWII.
