  • Although they are small, Yorkies are quite energetic.

  • Due to their size, these small dogs are somewhat delicate and are better with responsible children.

  • This breed is typically good with other dogs (especially when they are properly socialized as pups). However, they are not to be trusted with other small household pets such as hamsters or gerbils.

  • This small dog is also protective and territorial. They will definitely bark at unfamiliar sounds and are somewhat wary of strangers. Thus, the Yorkie can be a good watch dog.

Living Standards

  • They love to play indoors and should not be exposed to extreme temperatures.

Exercise

  • Provide this small dog with rules and regulation and he will adapt.

  • The Yorkie was first recognized by the AKC in 1885.

  • To date, the Yorkie is one of the most popular dog breeds in the world.
